Timo Broszeit

Independent consultant at International Monetary Fund

Timo Broszeit works as an independent consultant for the IMF. His expertise spans insurance stress testing, insurance regulation and supervision, financial stability analysis, and macroprudential policy. Prior to establishing his own consultancy in 2017, Timo headed the “Systemic Stability and Markets” Unit at the Austrian Financial Market Authority. At the European level he was engaged in the financial stability work of the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority (EIOPA), where he chaired the Subgroup on Risk Assessment from 2008 to 2013 and again from 2014 to 2016—in this position, he was also closely involved in various EIOPA stress testing exercises. From 2013 to 2014 he worked as a Financial Sector Expert in the Financial Supervision and Regulation Division of the IMF’s Monetary and Capital Markets Department. In recent years, he joined 16 FSAP missions including those to the United States, Japan, the Euro Area, Switzerland, France and most recently the United Kingdom and Ireland. Timo holds a Master’s degree in Economics from the Vienna University of Economics and Business.
