Jeanne Commault is an Assistant Professor of Economics at Sciences Po Paris. She is a macroeconomist with an interest in consumption and household finance. She has explored the measurement of the marginal propensity to consume (MPC) out of transitory income shocks, and the reasons for the gap between the MPC estimates obtained from natural experiments and the estimates obtained from semi-structural estimation in longitudinal survey data. She has also examined the analytical properties of the MPC in a life-cycle model, in particular the way it varies with permanent income. She is the recipient of the Young Economist Award from the European Economic Association.
