Andrew Ang

Ann F. Kaplan Professor of Business at Columbia Business School at Columbia University

Andrew Ang is the Ann F. Kaplan Professor of Business at Columbia Business School. He is a financial economist whose work centers on understanding the nature of risk and return in asset prices. His work spans municipal and government bond markets, equities, asset management and portfolio allocation, and alternative investments. Prof. Ang graduated in 1999 with a PhD in Finance from Stanford University and joined Columbia University in that year. He is a Research Associate of the National Bureau of Research and is the recipient of several grants from government organizations such as the National Science Foundation and major industry organizations such as the Q-Group, INQUIRE-UK, INQUIRE-Europe, the BSI Gamma Foundation, and Netspar. He currently serves as an Associate Editor for half a dozen leading journals. Prof Ang has consulted for investment banks, hedge funds, and other financial institutions. He currently serves as adviser to several asset managers, including Martingale Asset Management and the Norwegian sovereign wealth fund.
