Emanuel Ornelas is a Professor at Sao Paulo School of Economics-FGV. Prior to FGV, he was an Associate Professor at the London School of Economics. His research, published in several leading academic journals, covers a range of topics related to international trade, including the political economy of the formation and the consequences of regional trade agreements, trade policy under incomplete contracts, and the internationalization process of exporting firms. He has presented his work in over 200 professional conferences and academic institutions, in more than 30 different countries. Emanuel is an Elected Fellow of the Econometric Society and holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is also a Research Fellow of the Centre for Economic Policy Research and a Research Associate of LSE’s Centre for Economic Performance, CESifo, and the International Growth Centre. Between 2010-2022, he was an Associate Editor of the Journal of International Economics.
