Oana Ciobanu is a PhD Candidate in Sociology at the University of Osnabrück,
Germany.
In October 2007 she joined the Hamburg Institute of International Economics as
an Early Stage Marie Curie Researcher.
She has a bachelor degree in Sociology from the University of Bucharest,
Romania (2003) and a master degree in Sociology and Social Anthropology from
Central European University, Hungary (2004).
Her interests regard transnationalism, migration policies and the sending
countries. So far, she has been mainly working on East – West Migration,
with an emphasis on the Romanian case study.
