The second workshop of the network was held in also in Villas, Swizerland, on 18 January 2002

The network has organised two workshops in January 2001 and January 2002. Both workshops took place in Villars with Karen Helene Midelfart, Richard Baldwin and Anthony Venables as organisers. The workshops have explored the impact of integration and technological change on the location of economic activity, and allowed young and established researchers to profit from cross-fertilization of different technologies, competencies and perspectives. The workshops have been extremely successful, attracting a high number of applications from network and non-network members. Presentations by young researchers in the network have been a particular feature of the workshops.
