Workshops and Conferences

A networking workshop, which incorporated an administrative meeting, took place in London in November 2001. Again several team members and young researchers were involved and a notable feature of the conference was a policy roundtable on “capital flows and exchange rates” that involved presentations by Gaspar (ECB), Carre (European Commission), Filosa (BIS) and Visco (OECD). Their participation helped to promote a vigorous interchange between the academics and the policymaking community, which was also an invaluable experience for the young researchers. All-in-all, the conference established a high profile for the network in broader research and policy circles.

The First Workshop was held in Tel-Aviv on 26/27 November 2000. It covered theoretical and empirical work in the areas of: microfoundations of international capital flows; international macroeconomics, management of the international financial system; and international taxation. Pdf versions of the Programme (42k) and List of Participants (54k) are available.

The Second Workshop of this Network was held in Copenhagen on 22 and 23 June 2001. It focused on the following two themes within the network's overall research agenda: Macroeconomic interdependence and international financial markets; and taxation and the international financial system. Pdf versions of the Programme (38kb) and List of Participants (27kb) are available. This meeting was organised in conjunction with the Economic Policy Research Unit at the University of Copenhagen.

The First Working Meeting for this network was held on 5 February 2000 in Frankfurt.  Click for a pdf version of the Programme (23k) and a List of Participants (21k).
