Honohan appointed Governor of Irish Central Bank

Research Fellow Patrick Honohan has been appointed as Governor of the Central Bank of Ireland. Honohan is a Research Fellow in the CEPR International Macroeconomics Programme, and Professor of International Financial Economics and Development at Trinity College Dublin. Before taking up this position in April 2007, he served as Senior Advisor on financial sector policy at the World Bank, where he was influential in the design and implementation of the IMF-World Bank Financial Sector Assessment Program as applied to developing countries. His recent research has focused on monetary and financial sector policy and access of low income households to financial services. His books (jointly authored) include Systemic Financial Crises, Finance for Growth, Financial Liberalization: How Far, How Fast? and Finance for All?
