CEPR Research Fellow Chris Pissarides awarded 2010 Nobel Prize in Economics

CEPR Research Fellow Chris Pissarides has been awarded the 2010 Nobel Prize in Economics, in recognition of his work on search theory and matching models.
The prize recognises his work, and that of Peter Diamond and Dale Mortensen. Their contributions are the basis for labour market analysis, and have become a fundamental building block of contemporary macroeconomic theory. Housing markets, regional economics, family economics all make use of the tools they have developed.
Chris has for many years been a mainstay of CEPR´s International Macroeconomics and Labour Economics programmes.
