Formal Exchange Programmes

Researchers from India will visit the European partners institutions for periods ranging from 1 week to 1 month. The purpose of these visits will be to conduct joint research, share knowledge, views and regional perspectives and research findings, and to develop ideas and themes for comparative studies. Formal training programmes, internships, as well as visiting lecturer schemes, are also envisaged.

The project comprises four major events, which will bring together researchers and practitioners involved in each of the thematic activities. These events are crucial opportunities for presenting research findings, highlighting regional comparisons and debating policy recommendations.

Lecture Series

In order to spread know-how and forge links between institutions, European and Indian team members will give lectures in India and interact with the academic community. This could also extend to giving lectures under the auspices of local (Indian) business confederations and/or any regulatory associations and will promote greater interaction with various stakeholders.

Regulatory Forum

As part of an ongoing activity, it is envisaged that a regulatory forum may be organised comprising of European and Indian regulators. The purpose of the forum will be to assemble together important regulators working in, for example, the telecoms and energy sectors. This will benefit regulators in that they will not only learn from each other but also to enable them to address issues and solve problems that may overlap across sectors.
