2008 Fundación Banco Herrero Prize
Diego Puga has been awarded the 2008 Fundación Banco Herrero Prize. The
Prize is given annually to a young Spanish researcher (resident in Spain or
abroad) under the age of 40 for his or her outstanding contributions to the
fields of economics, business or social sciences.
Puga receives the prize for his contributions to economic geography, urban
economics and international trade. The Prize was instituted in 2002 and was
previously awarded to Xavier Sala i Martin, José Manuel Campa, Roberto
Serrano, Mauro Guillén, Javier Suárez, and Luis Garicano.
Diego Puga is Research Professor at IMDEA Social Sciences and Co-Director of
the CEPR International Trade and Regional Economics Programme.
